South African Airways launched their photo competition ‘Capture South Africa’ in July 2013, which was advertised at check-in desks and through social media sites. The campaign asked fans to share the beauty of South Africa, through the categories 'people' and 'landscape'.

The votes decided the top 10 and the best two photos were chosen by SAA to win a pair of tickets on South African Airways between the UK and South Africa! Data capture and user generated content were the main motivators for SAA to run the campaign and they were delighted by its outcome. Some of the photos submitted were so fantastic, SAA decided to publish them in their own in-flight magazine.

Design

BeeLiked interpreted designs created by SAA and their agency and optimized the pages for all devices. 

Technology

This campaign used BeeLiked's Multi Media contest with standard features. People were able to enter photos from their social network albums during the initial phase of the contest. Once voting was enabled, the photo entry was turned off and people were then encouraged to vote by clicking on an image and then signing in to their social network to vote on their favorite picture. The winning two photographs were chosen by a combination of votes and a judging panel. In addition voters were entered into a sweepstake to win several other prizes.

About this campaign

South Africa vibrant country, well known it's breathtaking safari adventures, wildlife, and beautiful landscapes. However, perhaps one of the countries best kept secrets it's mouthwatering cuisine. That's why South African Airways asked their customers to share recipes, food videos and photos to get everyone to embrace the many tastes of South Africa.

Design

BeeLiked working with SAA and their agency designed the look and feel of the campaign.

Technology

This campaign used BeeLiked's Multi Media contest with no additional features. People were able to enter photos, videos and text to the campaign. Voting was then enabled once the entry period had finished and voters were asked click the media they wish to vote on and then sign into their preferred social network to cast the vote.

Intro

There is no one more famous in South Africa than Nelson Mandela. So to celebrate the launch of the Walk to Freedom movie about his life, South African Airways created a quiz to test peoples knowledge of Mandela's incredible story. The day the movie was premièred in London, was the day that Nelson Mandela passed away. The quiz had 10 questions, which were actually quite hard! The questions were multiple choice, which perhaps made it slightly easier than it would otherwise have been and each question was accompanied by either videos or pictures.

Design

The BeeLiked team worked from creative templates supplied by SAA and their agency and then built this look into the platform.

Technology

The campaign used BeeLiked Quiz App and so was nice and easy to put together, with all questions and answers easily editable as well as an automated thank you email sent to each entrant.
